At REVA, the safety of our customers is of utmost importance. REVA has been designed and tested for reliability and safety to withstand trying conditions. In fact, REVA has been rigorously tested for over 1 million KM`s, before it reached its first customer. That is like taking the car an unbelievable 25 times around the globe.

Reva has passed all mandatory safety tests.

The specially designed steel space frame and side impact beams cocoons passengers in the event of a collision, shielding them from an impact.

The body of the Reva is made of high impact ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) that is dent resistant and non-corrosive. This ensures minimum damage to the car and enhances protection to passengers in the event of a collision. Hit the Reva's ABS body with a hammer and it will not dent. Unlike steel, ABS bounces back into shape.

Injury to passengers is also minimised in the event of a collision due to a special crush zone under the bonnet and energy absorbing bumpers at the front and rear. The energy absorbing bumpers are made of LLDPE (Linear Low Density Poly Ethylene) which has special vacuum cones and can take an impact upto 10km/hr.

As the power pack is situated under the front seats the centre of gravity is lowered, increasing the stability of the car.

Added safety features include seatbelts and adjustable head rests (designed for the comfort of people of various height).

The special asymmetrical, tubeless tyres used in the REVA enhance driving range and provide an improved road grip. Reva has an intelligent instrument cluster that has service and warning lights that provides more than adequate safety during use.

Some of the special features found in the Reva are as follows:

• The REVA will not move unless the charge cable is unplugged from the charge port.
• In case you have forgotten to engage the parking brake or leave the keys in the car, warning chimes are activated.
• The service light on the indicator panel glows whenever the car requires servicing.
• In case the water level recedes in the Power Pack the battery water level lamp indicates this condition.
